For Victoria College,
programs are one or more highly integrated
degrees or
certificates (e.g., welding program or physical therapist assistant program). Changes to these programs often require notification to or approval from one or both of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (
THECB) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (
SACSCOC). Additionally, many programs may require significant investment in facilities, resources, advisory council member recruitment, and meet federal guidelines on gainful employment.
Due to the regulatory and legal complexity of program changes and the sheer variety of possibilities, the
Institutional Effectiveness, Research, and Assessment (
IERA) department facilitates and consults on program additions, changes, and deletions on behalf of the Vice President of Instruction.
